  • Educate the public and advocate for the City’s parks, trails and urban forest policies.
  • Encourage and facilitate public involvement,
  • Incorporate public input into the City’s parks, trails and urban forest plans and policies.

Please take the time to review the proposed ordinance for a Parks, Trails and Urban Forestry Advisory Board. All comments will be welcomed up to and including the public hearing on Tuesday, July 14. Comments received by June 30. 2009 will be added to the staff report.

The Council looks forward to working with various groups to develop and improve the current proposed ordinance. The creation of this board would be useful to the City in evaluating public improvement proposals in city owned parks and the manner and process by which such changes can and should occur.  We look forward to hearing your perspective regarding this issue.
